I created this image on my Pentax 6x7, which is a medium format film camera. I used a film called Lomochrome Turquoise, which has now been sadly discontinued. This photograph was made with one of my last rolls of LCT film. 

The Red of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Blue of the night sky both changed colors beautifully!

The Golden Gate Bridge at Blue hour looks like the Blue bridge at the golden hour! 

One of our visits to the Golden Gate Bridge ended at Vista Point. As we explored we came across this gentleman standing as still as a statue gazing towards the bridge. When making this photo I was mostly intrigued with the lighting and the overall scene. Also, this would be my last turquoise images made on this roll. As I prepared to share this image with you, I began to wonder more about the statue. This is "The Lone Sailor". He was created as a memorial to represent the last view millions of military service members had of America's West Coast, especially during WWII, when being shipped off to military service. This memorial was dedicated on April 14th, 2002 by The San Francisco Committee. The entire project totaled more than 3 million dollars. The committee raised the money not using any government funds, meaning none of your tax dollars. Pretty amazing that we were there on April 13th, 2017 Almost exactly 15 years to the date later making these images of 'The Lone Sailor'. The day after we visited this statue we visited with my brother & his family, my brother who is in the Navy.
